This is the site that I use for current predictions, specially when diving any thing around the narrows. (day island, Titlow, sunrise beach etc.)

The link is bad - I think you need to remove the commas. As NWGratefulDiver noted you can get to where you want to go by going up a few levels in the URL.

Also check out flw.com...

The webpage that Uncle Pug recommended two years ago, www.tides.com, now redirects (at least on my browser) to http://www.nobeltec.com/. From there you can click on "Daily Tide Predictions", and it will also give you currents as well as tides. The search engine seams a bit flaky, but you eventually get what you need.

.... but worth it IMO:

Uncle Pug:
So I went on their website (which sends me to nobeltec.com). It looks like they want $129 for their Tides and Current software. They show some great screenshots of tides and currents overlayed on charts. When I called to order the software they said they wanted an additional $250 to get an overlay chart of the Puget Sound(!). Without the add-on charts it looks like all you get is a sine wave of the current or tide predictions for a given day. If you've your only using the software for diving is the T&C software still worth it? After all that information is already readily available on the web (you can even get the sine waves for free off of the Nobeltec web page). Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Jerry

I thought there was free software you can download and use for your palm....?

There is. It's called Tide Tool. Google search should turn it up.

It's basically X-tide for Palm.

There is free stuff out there now, I wouldn't buy it for diving.

However if you have your laptop running charting software and connected to both a GPS and your boat's autopilot you can set a course with as many waypoints as you want and attach tide and current stations to the waypoints.

The program will then give you best time of departure to minimize time enroute as well as your ETA to each waypoint and final destination.

I haven't sent the boat off on its own and then drove my car up to meet it yet but it does make the cruise a kick back and watch for logs affair.

:D
