I would really like some experienced divers to give me their input on the best bang for buck shorty out there for diving in 75 degree water around the BVI at Thanksgiving. I figure a 3mm shorty is probably what I need. We only snorkle/dive a couple times a year! Know of any good deals? Thanks everyone!

It really comes down to fit for your body. A shorty for under $100 you will have a few options. Pinnacle, Bare and Akona have shorties in that price range and are all excellent. I would recommend going to a local LDS(or a few,as I did) and trying different brands on and find the one that fits you the best.

And welcome to :sblogo:

B.

EDIT: Just to make a note: I personally don't like diving with a shorty. I prefer a full wetsuit not only for the extra warmth if you are doing multiple dives(I get cold in a shorty after 2), but also for the extra protection.

Thanks, I do not have the opportunity to dive very often but we do snorkle frequently so I thought this type of suit would work for both?

PM MMDiver on this board.
I just bought two shorties from him and they are great, especially for the price.

Shorties are a pet peeve of mine. IMO, they're fit for jet skiers only. They will not protect you from sea lice, jellies, boat ladders, etc whether you snorkel or scuba. Sellers like them because they're easy to fit, but I would never suggest one.

If you haven't yet, click Forums above and start going thru the list - looking for those of interest to you, especially your local dive club. Always good to try a Search before starting a new thread, tho :search: - click here for Search help, and be careful about posting Threads & Replies before reading the Sticky threads at the tops of most forums. PM me if I can help you around here..
