Bob, Got to tell ya -- don't like your pics! NOW if only you identified the critters then they'd be perfect! (See you tonight although I will just be shore support, sigh.)

Puget Sound is one of my dream destinations man! It has made it into the book "FIFTY PLACES TO DIVE BEFORE YOU DIE." It may not have colorful marine life but I dont believe diving is just about that. Every place has something to offer. Unique terrain, marine lifem wrecks, geographical features. That is actually the difference between "tourists" and ahem ..."explorers." Tourists go to places that have a reputation to be pretty! In diving they would be caribbean, bahamas etc. Explorers go to places that offer the "unknown." That is where I would place Washington and Puget Sound area.

I wish I had the money to travel and dive there.

We used seattlescuba.com. They have great instructors and class/rental prices are posted on the website. We chose them mainly because they were the closest shop to our house. I'm sure all the NW dive shops would be great as anyone who is an instructor in the NW has passon for the sport!

Keystone is cool as long as you plan the tides well. Didn't one time.

There are so many great places and when you go back you see different critters. Perhaps even a 6 gill shark...

If you are in the south end, I would recommend Marc Pyle through Tacoma Scuba. I just found out tonight that he is teaching there. Marc's an amazing diver with a mass of experience that I don't think anybody in the Sound can match, and he's a fun guy to hang out with, too.

I didn't know that Marc is now an instructor but I would second this recommendation completely. Marc is a class act (and fun)!
