Considering my options as a friend has pretty much threw me into learning how to dive, after I have had a lifelong interest.

I'm trying to find a place that has a mix of good training, and not too hard on the wallet. I fully understand that to get the best, I'm gonna shell out a bit more, but I still want to be able to not spend too much.

So with that said can anyone refer me to a good school?

Hands down IB Divers ... Malcolm Smith and Lonnie Sharp are World Class Divers ... they are by far the two best divers I have ever meet in SoCal.

IB Divers - Diving San Diego, Southern California and Channel Islands for both Recreational and Technical Divers

Malcolm is like an old college professor and Lonni is simply a fantastic instructor one every level of diving ... there's a reason why so many in the Navy train under them .. and their prices are very respectable.
The shop is well run and well staffed.

oh yea I got zero skin in this ... just have been trained by them and passing on my experience.
