I am now done with a corporate career, am tired of wearing suit and tie all day long, am tired of getting my morning coffee need in long lines just to get bad coffee and service. I am done with long flights and even longer delays. I am tired cold and wet weather. I am simply tired of wearing socks and dress shoes every damn day. So I am taking a large jump in my life.

I want to live ON the beach, not near it. I want to overlook the sea from my patio in the morning. I want to be able to smell it from my bedroom. I want to be able to drink Margaritas in the middle of the day without a good reason. I would like to be able to walk on the beach to watch the sunrise while feeling the breeze in my face while I enjoy a cold beer.

So, what is the best country for diver? I no longer want diving as a seldom hobby, but I want to live the tropical dream. Warm weather is the most important to me, so if there is a place that pretty much have Phoenix weather a l l year around, that would have been perfect. Dive visibility and water quality comes in second. I have no intention of getting rich so the cost of living must be low. I just want to live the goodlife.

Vietnam? Thailand? Taiwan? Bring it on, and let me hear the experts opinion in this matter.

You are not the first one. There are many more threads than this on the board.
A real issue is health care and insurance. My understanding is that medicare does not work outside the USA.
So you really need to consider your health and whether or not your choice of location has a direct flight back to the USA

Best of luck

My friends usually adore Indonesia. Plenty of different islands, nice people... Health care? Well, it isn't perfect anywhere, it's better to be healthy.:)
