Could anyone with more experience in the Cayman Islands tell me what time of the year has the best chance of optimum diving- water clarity, temps, etc.
We have (for diving) only been to Cayman Brac one time, Little Cayman one time and Grand Cayman one time. Thinking about a return with a GC/LC split again but I am not a diver so I would love some feedback as the trip planner. Thanks so very much!

One imporatnt consideration is hurricane season...June to November. Best to avoid.

Hurricane season is nice as long as there’s no hurricane. I’d tend to compromise and avoid the peak of the season but worry less about the fringes.

Winter can make things more windy/rainy/ sporty if you care, with slightly lower water temps, though what passes for cooler these days isn’t so much. There seems to be certain times for algae on the reefs but not sure about that season.

I’m partial to Mid March-mid June.

How many days are you planning for each place? Any idea where?

Thank you both. Unfortunately, since the Caymans are pretty expensive imo, I am thinking of a 4/4 split. we spent 5 nights in LC the one time we went (stayed at Paradise villas) and had 3 nights in GC before heading to LC and that worked out pretty well.
I am not sure when we would end up going as we already have our November trip booked in Curacao and an April trip to Roatan (3 nights) then Clark's Cay/Guanaja (7 nights) so I was trying to figure it out.... we live on the gulf coast and are very hurricane aware but American Thanksgiving week is always a good time for us to travel/ husband to be away from work.
A travel friend told me about a condo in GC that is 5 minutes away from Indigo Divers (anyone ever used them?) who take very small groups- very important to husband.
Southern Cross is over our budget and LCBR seems to prefer weeklong stays- looking at a condo at Conch Club- thoughts welcomed. Remember as a non-diver, I like a swimmable beach or a pool, food and a bar onsite or walkable ! We are not foodies- husband does not eat breakfast (I do) we like to eat lunch or late lunch out and are happy snacking or fixing something simple for ourselves for a few nights if we have a kitchen...

thanks!!

We were there last week of October 2024. Got mostly blown out.

Going back in March 2026 to use our coupons for the 12 dives missed in Oct 2024.
