Hi,

Few days ago I needed OMS bands for my doubles. I knew about a place in Providence. But due to the weird schedule I never checked before, until my buddy reminded me.

This shop has the tech stuff to the best prices retail -I have seen. You will not regret calling Bruce (401) 434-5058. He works Mon-Sat 10am-1pm. Leave a message we will get back to you. Make sure you know what you need! ask for the special ScubaBoard price.....

WHOLESALE DIVING EQUIPMENT

ps. I do not work or have any relationship to the shop...just passing this great tip along !!!

I'm glad it worked out for you. Personally, I've had nothing but bad experiences with that place since I started diving 5 years ago and not only wouldn't I set foot in it (and it's about 4 miles from my house), but I'd never recommend it to anyone else. In fact, yours is the first good experience I've heard about with that owner/shop. More power to you...

SadiesMom (and I'm no longer affiliated with *any* dive shop, so I have no vested interest - just a personal opinion based on my own and others' experiences :-) )

Hi,

I agree with you the experiences vary shop to shop, personality owner/buyer in between other factors.

I have been to many shops.....I had some not too great experiences maybe with 95% of them....of course that 5% is Divers Cove.

I doubt you find another shop like DiversC at least in the CT/RI area. What shop do you recommend?

Coming back to the point.....I'm an eBay (junky) believer....anything that gets me the lowest price will have me buying....
So the style of this shop is know exactly what you need. You will get it at a low price and cash is the king of the discount !!!

Well, at the time, Bruce wasn't doing internet sales - it was just walk-in business. Perhaps it's because I'm female, but he didn't take me seriously at all - even though I was there to get a quote on a full set of gear. His $1,500 loss.

I don't know Diver's Cove - where is it in CT? I admit to not having been to many shops in CT - so I don't know them. But it sounds like I should check them out whenever I can!

I used to DM for The Scuba Center (Attleboro, MA) and I liked them (although I know of people who didn't...) and I also DM'd for OSS in Jamestown - I thought they were a pretty good shop as well. However, both are out of business (despite the coincidence, I *swear* it's not my fault! ;) ). I don't really have a current LDS - I've been getting fills wherever's closet to the dive site. However, I just popped into Giant Stride in Warwick last week, since I like Red from just talking to him when I ran into him at dive sites and at this point, I'm going to give his shop a try for a while.

I'm someone who has no compunction whatsoever about using E-bay for non-life-support gear...but if I'm going to depend on a piece of gear to keep me alive, I want to know exactly where it came from and I want it serviced by someone I know (and who might have a vested interest in keeping me alive - even if it's just to keep spending money).

As you said - it may have been a personality thing between Bruce and me - or he may have issues with female divers. I'm not trying to ruin him - just be honest about my experience with him. Frankly, I'd love to find an LDS where I felt as at home as I did at TSC...hasn't happened yet.
