Yes, it is always beneficial to go south.

This has been a helpful thread....are there fees for diving these house reefs?

Capt Don is only the one that charges to use their house reef.

Red..what are u talking about. I was merely saying that going south at Buddy dives is beneficial

Everything you type has a double meaning. Which cheek? This one: :mooner:

We stayed at the Belmar Condo's on the south side of town - very nice house reef, just a bit farther swim to get to than the northern resort house reefs. House reefs are great for that quick first or last dive of the day right from your own dock. What was really nice for us, was that due to Buddy's being a "sister resort" to Belmar, we were able to switch tanks at their facility when diving the north shore sites. One late afternoon, we decided to not only switch out tanks at Buddy's, but do a twilight last dive of the day @ their house reef (around 4:30). What a treat - creatures getting ready for bed w/ last minute frenzy of activity, as well as the ones "getting up" for the night came out like crazy. At one point it was a creole wrasse super highway running both directions along side of us. Then after the dive, we soaked our gear in the dock- side tanks, went up stairs & had Amstels & burgers while watching the sun set - ahhh... Bonairian heaven!

I agree with the Buddy Dive idea as it puts you in the middle of most of the house reefs mentioned.

so if I'm staying at one resort, do the other resorts let you dive "their" house reef?

Well, if they are close you can just dive them from your house reef. We asked to dive the Black Durgeon reef from their dock and were refused.
