If I only had one day of diving to see Mola Mola, my choice would be Gili Tepekong/Gili Mimpang, off Padang Bai. However, if you have more than 1 day of diving, book a day trip to both areas, to maximise your chances.

PM me for dive centre suggestions, have you booked your accommodation yet? where are you staying?

Thanks Amanda. I am going this June to Nusa Penida for a day with Bali Scuba as planned (thanks to you) but June is a bit early for them unless I get lucky.

But next year, I just cencelled my planned trip to Kimbe Bay in PNG and asked for my deposit back. I decided to go to Wakatobi on the Pelagain instead but will arrive a few days before - 30th September 2015 in Bali and stop to dive at Padang Bai (where I won't be stopping this year. No time) before catching the Wakatobi charter

June isn't really early for Mola2; they've been spotted in February and throughout the year, so depending on the water temp you could be lucky at any time of the year and at either dive spot.

(I had completely forgotten that we had spoken before, must be my age!)

FYI, Waterworxx dive centre (Padang Bai) saw Mola2 this morning, check out their Facebook page for video of the encounter :D
