Best cenote near Cancun?

hey all... going back to the Yuc for some R&R with the wife and baby girl... want to bust out for a couple cenote dives during the visit. i've dived Dos Ojos and was wondering what the best cenotes close to Cancun are. any suggestions? thanks, guys!

The best cavern dives are the furthest away from Cancun and are closer to Tulum. Dos Ojos (which you've been to) is one of the best, and Grand Cenote is just South of Dos Ojos and is the prettiest of the Caverns due to it's highly decorated white walls (it is part of the Sac Aktun system for white cave).

Taj Mahal is closer to Cancun and would be a good second choice after Grand Cenote.

I'd have to go back and look at the locations but I would think that Chac Mool. This was my first and only cavern dive but it was awesome. We're going back in Sept and I'd like to get another one in, but I don't want to leave my son hanging.

Check Angelitas with it's halocline of (I think) hydrogen sulphide, just don't wear any jewellery!

Chac Mool is the furthest north (closest to Cancun). Here's a dive site map, if you're interested...

Chac Mool is the nearest cenote from Cancun, but i will recommend you to try Ponderosa and Tajmaha, only few minutes to the south from Chac Mool, and less visited by divers. Hope you have fun while visiting the Riviera Maya.
