I did the ferry from Cozumel to dive Chac Mol and Kulkulcan ceynotes in March.

Only additional bit of advice is to have a wheeled gear bag... It is a bit of a hike from the ferry pier to where the vehicle will be to take you to the ceynotes. A wheeled bag made all the difference in carrying/dragging our gear through Playa del Carmen and the crowds...
