Instabros aren't getting rebreather trained as I do not think anyone is giving away their rebreathers for a bit of exposure.
Obviously, we are referring to the level of awareness for professional wildlife photography, above the water and underwater. Modern social media is more accessible than traditional media channels.

For example, if National Geographic has 10k photograpers, now that segment might grow faster than before because more people are aware of wildlife photography after National Geographic became active on social media.

Anyway, even if that segment will not grow after the modern social media, still wanted to hear @Wibble opinion about the use of SCR for divers who never need to go deaper than 40 meters or so, but need to stay more time underwater, and he thankfully shared his opinion.

To be fair, it really doesn’t take much to get @Wibble to share his opinion.

That’s the Revo’s worst point.

I jumped in and knocked the mouthpiece but was certain it was just loose lips. After 30 minutes of fighting it underwater, I ended up with a caustic cocktail and bailed out; just did the 35 mins of decompression blowing bubbles. As I lived, I learned an awful lot from that misadventure.

To be honest, it was worth it for the learning experience. Nothing was damaged except my ego and a couple of weeks of doing my own RCA (root cause analysis). Now I bore everyone with this tale as a way of paying back to the community.

Yes, Revos have poor flood tolerance. However, you always dive with sufficient bailout and you ensure you take notice of any “leaks”. So for the hundreds of dives I’ve done on the unit, one big failure wasn’t too bad.

@stuartv had a similar experience a while back. This is concerning if it happens this frequently.

No, it does not happen frequently, let's stop this FUD. There are reasons to choose rebreathers other than rEvo, but water removal from the unit is not the top one.
