Inexpensive BC's are fine for tropical/travel. Fewer features means less bulk and greater simplicity.

garyfotodiver:I bought an Aqualung Wave on eBay and I am very pleased. It was ex-rental.
Iwander:How much did you pay for the Aqualung Wave bc on ebay? I got a new one on clearance from sports store for $100 but didnt get to really use it except for a refresher course in the pool. It seemed to work fine. The hose attachment to the jacket was a little loose which the instructor tightened and it was good to go.
garyfotodiver:I think it was about $75 delivered. It folows the KISS principle, which is DIR to me.
Iwander:That sounds like a positive thing. What is the KISS principle? You mean the Aqualung Wave BC follows the KISS principle? How does an inanimate object follow a principle? How does DIR play into this? Sorry I'm wet behind the...errr.
I'm a happy Triple-L Orion owner. I tested a couple of others from the LDS, looked/tried on many others, and decided on the Orion. Its very adjustable, reasonably comfortable above water, absolutely great UW (BP/W style). I posted a couple of days ago on another thread my experience with it after 15 dives. Triple L makes several BCD styles, the reviews of which on this board all seem favorable.xSandman3:Not much sense in buying used when you can buy a new Triple-L for under $200. I bought one for each of my daughters, and spent less than $300 total for both. The Pegasus is a nice back inflate with weight integration.
