Erm...I'm a "she"

And I've never had a problem with any AA batteries of any type not fitting in anything (and I have a million things that take AAs it seems)...interesting.

uhhhh... whooops... :sorry19z:

(and I can't even say we all look alike in rubber...)

...my bad...

Thanks everyone! I didn't even know AA rechargeable batteries were rated for different capacities. I think I'm going to order a few Accupower 2900mAh AA battery packs and try to find a decent charger. It seems that in this case bigger is better. I wonder if battery capacity works in relation with the amount of charges a cell can take.

Thanks to all for the advice and links. Any further advice is welcome.

Really Bperrybap?
Are you sure of this?

I'm just curious because I always thought that if a battery is marked AA it's the same size, regardless of whether it's an Alkaline or Rechargeable ?

Absolutely positive. It wasnt a height/length issue it
was a diameter issue. Here are some AA measurements of the
diameter of the batteries:

14mm Energizer Lithium
14mm Rayovac Maximum Plus
14mm Lenmar NoMem Pro 2000maH
14.45mm X1 2400mAh

So you may want to avoid the "X1" brand. All my others
seem to be the same size. It is amazing that a 1/2 mm
makes that much of a difference in certain devices. But the X1
batteries will not fit in my wifes Sanyo digital camera or my travel
electric shaver, which is too bad because the batteries last a
long time - much longer than
the lithiums in my other devices.

So, if you want to be sure it works. Take your
calipers with you and make sure that they are not larger
in diameter than 14mm.

Empty V
When getting a charger, look for one that is "Universal".
This will allow you to plug it into all voltages worldwide with
out a transformer adapter. All you will need is a mechanical
plug adapter.

BTW, I also have some AA to C adapters. These allow you to
insert a AA battery into a hollow plastic shell that allows it to be used
in place of C battery. These are made by Lenmar and these
shell adapters are .7mm larger in diameter than an actual C
battery. This tiny bit won't allow them to fit into my PrincetonTec
C4 light, which was the device I intended to use them in.
In this case I think the extra size is due to a printed
label that is wrapped around the shell. I'll have to peal one off
to see if it fits. If it still doesn't fit, I'll have to do a little bit
of sanding.
