A little confused? If you are going to be doing "Cave" Then you will most likely be looking at BP&W or Side-Mount. When I did my Cave training, we were in BP&W's.

If you are going BP&W check out Halcyon
Halcyon Eclipse System HES *Buy Halcyon at DIVESEEKERS.com 888-SCUBA-47
For use with a single tank and if diving doubles then you get the Evolve Wing. Most efficient way to dive, use the correct wing. Single tank - single tank wing, Doubles - Doubles Wing

If Side-Mount then check out the Nomad!
Nomad EXP Sidemount Rig BC4500 *Buy Dive Rite at DIVESEEKERS.com 888-SCUBA-47

I am going to go with the Transpac with no back plate on it....since i can customize it later to have everything else

My apeks is serving me well, it can have a backplate inserted in or not, can be taken part for easy transport on vacation, and can change wings if you plan on diving doubles as well.

I would think a zeagle ranger would give you everything you need and with there factory a stone toss from tampa service would be great. plus it comes with weight pockets, by time you get the transpac and wing your at the same cost as a ranger ltd.

I'm not sure I follow what you are saying. Are you saying that some BC's are safe and some are unsafe? If so, which BC's or brands are unsafe? I have always felt that "safety", when it comes to diving, has little to do with your equipment choices (assuming the stuff works) and a lot to do with your mindset or attitude.

To the OP, I would look at the Scubapro Knighthawk or the one I like even better, the Seahawk. Very high quality product.

i completely agree !!:D
