Well, seems Continental Airlines was able to help me make my decision...
Was trying to do the airfare with OnePass miles to upgrade, but apparently you're not able to do Newark/Kosrae/Truk/Newark or Newark/Truk/Kosrae/Newark on a reward travel itinerary. Must be "round-trip" to/from a single location...oh well.
To make matters even "easier" when I started plugging in possible dates on the OnePass website I was actually able to swing First Class tickets the whole way there and back. Not just "upgrade" tickets on top of the $2,200 coach fare, but completely free First Class tickets for the same number of "Saver Pass" miles as an Economy ticket.
Further simplifying my decision on accommodations once in I'm in Truk, the only dates those free First Class seats are available are the perfect dates for doing two weeks aboard the Odyssey.
And, in the final "sign from God" it turns out that the money I'll be saving by not having to pay the coach airfare ($2,200) is almost exactly what the cost of the second week on the Odyssey is!
So if anyone needs me the week of March 1st or the week of March 8th, you'll know where to find me...
