Interesting that this is on the Rodales Scuba Guide site, creeping to mainstream... how many years until we see the big boys like
Aqualung, Mares, Scubapro, etc, producing and marketing bp/wings for open water recreational divers????

Dacor already makes a "pseudo" BP and harness. It has about 30 D rings on it and still looks bulky. And it costs about $700.00.

.....but they're trying!!

It's my plate and STA.:) Looks like an OMS rigged harness routed in the "classic" syle.

No other available plate has the "handholes" for "over the head" doff and don when singled up, and the top center alternate strap routing slots.

What timing! Just when I was beginning to wonder about all of this....

I brought my DIR rig into my LDS today so they could 'check it out' and either approve or disapprove it for my check out dives next month! i thought the salesman's jaw would hit the ground when he saw my Halycon rig and my SS BP and harness...he said "Uh, yea, thats looks like it would be just fine for your dives."

Hahahaha....he must have thought I had some junk with plastic doo-dads all over it or something...instead, my SS BP and D-rings all glistening there with my SP buckle! hahahaha

My, how the dive industry HATES things other than BC's...

They couldn't believe that a new OW student, could be a DIR boy, have a nice rig, bottom timer, Suunto wrist compass, Jetfins, Halycon gear and 'know' what I was talking about..

Hahahhaa, a guy sure hates to laugh at someone, but it was kinda funny watching a college student in the store dropping $400 for a USED BC with 8,000 plastic D-rings all over it, and the secondary reg hanging all over the place...

STROKES!
