Went diving with TightRopeWalker on Sunday the 2nd on Narragansett Bay . The water was rough and vis on the 1st dive off Fort Getty was about 3'. Water temp at 57fsw was 43F.

The second dive had more potential but I got cold almost from the moment I got back into the water. I got turned around and spent 5-8 min going in the wrong direction as in opposite direction. It wasn't soon after getting back on track I called the dive as I was just too cold. The temp on this dive was 45F at 33FSW, it was a little warmer than the 1st dive. I'd rather be diving dry.

Dived with NE Diver at Ft Wetherill Wed. the 5th. Visibility was good at around 15' water temp was 46F at 28FSW. Got a few decent pictures. NE got an amusing show as it wasn't my best dive. Started by forgetting my camera and going back for it. I changed my flag line configuration it didn't work out well and got in my way. My camera kept getting tangled around my reg hose. So if I wasn't fussing with the camera I was frigging around with the flag line. I've changed my wet suit since the season started and I'm still working on getting my weight right. So with the distractions my buoyancy control and navigation suffered. It was both our 1st time at this particular spot. The currents ran opposite from the direction of the tide in places, and the bottom dips run counter to what would be expected. All in all though it was a good dive. I'd like to try it high tide.

Sounds like changing up the wetsuit was a good idea. Nothing worse than being cold
in a wetsuit, the chill does stick. I have been using a Henderson Hyper. 7 Mil 2 piece.
I have not even been close to cold and my 5 dives this Spring on Cape Ann have all been 43-46 deg.

Oh, and they say when you switch equipment setups it takes at least 6 dives to really get comfortable, so wouldn't always change up equipment settings, just take the time to get used to them.

Happy & Safe diving. Sounds like fun.

Good to hear your report afterdark.....

Just a quick question, is that sea robin a good eating fish?

As you know, I am still learning about the NE fish.......;)

I never heard of anyone eating one but most fish are eatable. Wasn't that long ago nobody ate raw fish around here now it's cool. I'm not a fish eater so they all taste like s*** and smell worse to me.

Yeap...... we are meant to dive together......

You point the fish to me....... I "collect" them........:D

Of course, you can then also reveal to me where the big bugs reside.......:eyebrow:

Diver DMD,
Back in the days of all day fishing expeditions with my grandfather out of Hyannis I remember them being kept as part of the catch. If I recall correctly they were baked with a tomato based marinade called in Greek Plaki very tasty.
