You'll find out that 99% of what you read in SCUBA mags is crap.

As is 99% of the what I read online is crap.

Are you saying that Sturgeon's Law is out of date? Maybe the 9% increase is due to inflation? :confused_

I don't know why I'm surrounded by snobs. Perhaps I'm just lucky.

Birds of a feather, flock together. :54:

You just described everyone on this board in one way or another! LOL

Diver0001:
Airplane wing?

Dude, with all due respect it should be obvious to you that they have their collective head up their collective be-hind.....

R..

I got real kick out this! I went out and strapped a couple of DIR divers to my aiplane fuselage and the damn thing wouldn't take off. Then, once I inflated their huge bladders with Trimix, it did begin to float skyward. But I'd say these divers were more like a Hindenberg than an airplane wing.

The above is a parody. It is not to be taken seriously. Any similarity or resemblence to actual people is purely coincedence. No Halcyon equipment was actually hurt in this experiment. If you have any questions, please go to my PR adminstrator, Ms. Helen Wait.

Where's that coke alert :D
It's implied with most of his posts.

Uncle Pug:
What is someone who doesn't realize they are inferior?

The glib answer would be "part of most of humanity". I prefer uninformed, uneducated, maybe even clueless or lucky. But coming from the master of PUGnacious smarminess, I'm sure you have your own cute answer.

What is someone who doesn't realize they are superior?

LOL, I just gave WW crap the other day for his response to a new divers "dumb" question. I got a laugh, but the new kid on the block probably took up badmitten.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would have to say that about half the divers I've met fall into the "snob" category. The most common denomination are the folks who have a rescue c-card, followed next by brand new OW instructors, and then it's a split between the aow divers and people with drysuits. Every tech diver I've met has been a snob. The same follows for the AAUS "scientific divers" with a single exception. For some reason all the NOAA divers have not been snobs. Southern divers seem to be distinctly less snobbish than Californians and New Englanders, while Floridians are a mixed bag.
I don't know why I'm surrounded by snobs. Perhaps I'm just lucky.

I find that most people who complain about snobs define a snob as anyone who doesn't tend to bolster the definer's ability to be one.
