My son and I met 5 other divers early Saturday Morning for a dive from the Dam Site Park Boat Ramp. Temperature was about normal for this time of year (85 at surface), but the visibility was worse than I was expecting. We still saw plenty fish IMO, some quite large (green ones that I still cannot find a name for

). Thermocline was chilly but did not hit us until 32 feet under.

The one new thing I saw was an underwater life or death fight. Two perch fighting over a baby (juvenile) crayfish on the deck of one of the sunken boats. Little guy put up a fight, even getting loose after being picked up by one of them. Then very quickly, the bigger fish swooped in, inhaled, and the little guy was down the hatch.

Even though the viz was ugly, it sure beat "overwater" life for an hour. And it's always nice to get the gear wet again. I used this dive to shave a couple pounds off my "no wetsuit" weight count, and i never missed them. In fact - I will likely shave another two the next time.
