2 dives aboard the Cape Ann Diver II this past Saturday morning. Mostly cloudy skies; air temps on the water in the 60sF; water temps on both dives about 54F. Only 8 folks on the boat, so plenty of room. Visibility was OK...generally better at the deeper depths at Paddock....maybe 15 feet. Quite a bit of surge at both sites due to some off-shore storms.
We met a beautiful Yellow Sea Raven on what I'll call the "back side" of Paddock....we swam through the deep trench (with Paddock on our right shoulder), slowly ascending as we reached the end of the trench. We saw the Sea Raven at a depth of about 52 feet after we had emerged from the trench. He (or she) posed quite nicely for us. I would have loved to have a gotten a still shot of that incredible face, but with so much junk in the water, opted for video.
Sea Raven footage starts at about 0:48.
