One thing about the Besea is that it must be propery adjusted for each person. Takes about 30 menutes or so to get fitted to your body type. Cheers.

I don't know... the Poseidon rep that helped me with it seemed satisfied with how it "fit" me

I have the W50 and I love it. It does (as stated already) need some adjusting before your comfortable, but when it fits, you won't mind carrying all the weight before the dive. In the water, its continues to be comfortable without being too constrictive.

If you want to see my setup with a steel 10L 300 bar bottle, pony and canister (had to do some modifications to the tank straps), check http://www.dez3d.com/marine/W50.jpg

As for the weight issue, I use 13 lbs integrated, and another 2.2 lbs for trim. Thats not too much considering I dive with a Ursuit Heavy Light FZ suit wearing Weezle Extreme and an additional undergarment here in the Baltic sea.

Cheers

Strap-On thanks for the photos
I thought it would easier to mount on the "tank side" of the wing...
I'm just used to seeng the light mounted on the belt or on the backplate.

Thanks

Its difficult to mount it that way as the W50 differs from a regular harness plate. My solution works for me, and I can just about reach the canister switch. I only have 10 dives with this configuration, and I will likely improve on it further on, but this setup gives me a perfect balance in the water.

I also like to add that some W50 users here in Sweden dive with double 12L 232's, so its not limited to the 6L doubles as stated in the user manual.

Cheers

/Peter

Wow, the book has a 6L limit for doubles?! That seems small

I have 12L (LP85) Fabers and most technical divers would expect to use 17L (LP108) or 19L (LP120). A 6L limit would be a "deal breaker"...

Maybe a US owner could check and post if the US manual has any such comments...

Larger bottles should work, as the limiting factor is the max negative buoyancy, which for the W50 is 42 lbs. There is also the W100 which is specific for technical diving with large doubles, and if you already own the W50, you just get the W100 bladder (~ 250 USD), and hopefully the steel plate. I guess the only things that would deter technical divers are the quick-connects and the deflation bungee.

I demoed one and thought it was very uncomfortable. My zeagle Feels 50 times more comfortable then the posiedon

hi all

i have 3 BeSea setups - 1 for my single tank diving and the other is permanently setup for diving my twins 10.5Ls and finally i keep one for spares.

I got one initially because the concept of weight actually being borne on your hips rather than your shoulders really appealed to me (backpacking and hiking industry have been designing backpacks that do just this for years) and i never could understand why traditional cummerbands ended up at your stomach or just under your rib cage.

anyway, i loved it from the first dive i did, so i ended up with more. i also use the Poseidon s/steel plates on each of my two active setups - they offset the weight i used to use for trim on my Knighthawk and at 8lbs per plate - it also lets me take some weight off from my weight pockets.

Here are some pics of the harness on the twin setup

and the follow are pics of the single tank setup. Just one thing to note, for my twins i DONT use Poseidon bladder - i use a Dive rite Rec Wing - the design and stitch of the W50 isnt conducive to the width of twin tanks. At full inflation, they're really only designed for a snug fit around a single tank as you can see from one of the pics.

Hope this helps.

cheers
Jeelan
