After the bc is washed off and dry, is it ok to store in something like a large rubbermaid container kept inside a closet in the house (not in the attic or garage)? What about regs? Or should it all just be placed on a hanger like the wetsuits?

There are 'hangers' for regs, but somewhere I read the best way to store them in flat in a cool dry place. I have always loosely looped my hoses and wrapped the whole assembly in a large towel. In forty years I've never had damage to hoses of regs.

You might want to add a little air to the bc so the bladder doesn't stick together.
I personally store my regulator and bc on hangers in my gear closet.

I just hang mine up partially inflated. When I wash out the inside I put a little anti-bacterial mouthwash in as well. Smells minty fresh!

yeah that is a good idea

Yeah, love the mouthwash idea. That's great!

First the garage is one of the worst places to store gear, or anyplace you that has gasoline sitting around. The vapors of gasoline will brake down, and dry out rubber and silicon. If you’re going to hang your regulator, be certain that you are not putting any stress on the hoses. This will cause either a high pressure hose to split and rupture, or a low pressure. I have see both of these hoses go at various times.

Your looking at long term storage, store you BC after a good inter rinse, completely deflate it and fold it up real nice, do everything like wise. I like the rubber maid boxes because they stack very nicely and can hold all my gear with a little room to spare. I have also used a gear bag, its up to you!

If you looking to store your gear short term just about any method will work just remember long term or short the best way is in a cool and dry place

Great idea, Dennis! Can't wait to try it!

cockroaches also chew through silicone like it was babies candy.

be wary of storing gear in a garage that is prone to cockroaches and other crawlies such as silverfish or moths (moths will lay their cases on/in nylon such as your BCD and put nasty holes about the place).

by far and wide, the garage is a bad place for gear, keep it in the house, in a cupboard if you have too...
