Thanks for the comments. I will certainly check out the other alternatives, including the BPW. I kind of like the ripcord weight dump since it doesn't require special weight holders like some BCD's. In the unlikely event that I should have to dump weights, I won't have to buy new pocket inserts to use my BCD again.

I have also been looking at some Aeris models but the one I liked was also discontinued (the EX-200). I guess I just need to decide and hurry up and order before my next choice is discontinued too:)

I've had a Zeagle ranger since 1996. It's be quite durable and the ripcord mechanism is one of the most secure of integrated weight systems.

It's worth considering if you want integrated weights for a travel BCD. Integrated weight systems frequently need weights in specific form factors. I don't like carrying lead all over the world, so I travel with a belt and no weights. Most shops will loan, rent or sell you lead for a weight belt, and thereby you save the need to hustle weights all over the world.

It's worth considering a travel wing if you are comfortable with back inflation. The Zeagle Stilletto is pretty much a travel wing, but it still has that bulky cummerbund. I never really understood the need for a big wide velcro cummerbund.

Anyone know why a cummerbund on a BCD is a good idea? Whats wrong with using a belt like we use with a wing? Hmm.

IF the cumberbun is bothersome you can always take it off. I know of one person that did and then added a crotch strap. No problems.

Belts do no work for me. I have no way of keeping them on, they slide off.
