hi

Im about to purchase my last piece of 'major' kit... a bcd. Been looking at the aeris atmos XT...the back inflate/jacket hybrid. EVERYWHERE seems to do them for $399, which is in my budget range...except for LeisurePro, which has them for $315. The extra $85 could be handy for a backup knife and light, so im kinda interested.

But... and there always is a but... the picture of the XT on Leisurepro website doesnt look like any of the pictures from anywhere else. No name logo, and the LPI hose and mouthpiece looks different. It also looks kinda 'flimsier' than the ones pictured on scubatoys or joediver america for example... I am SO confused. Am i going to buy this and find out its not exactly what i wanted.

the leisurePro is on top...

Any clarification MUCH appreciated

Scubatoys has it for $399.95 and you get a 10% off discount for being a board member. They also give full manufacturer warranty and are highly recommended on this site....

Give them a call and they will tell you why there are different pictures for that BC. Maybe it has been upgraded or the pics you have are last years model??

Just tell them you are a board member.

Everybody is gonna tell ya to skip it and get the Brigade at Scubatoys.

Regardless of your purchase on the internet be sure you call them (Scubatoys, leisurepro or whoever) with MFG's product number you want to ensure you guys are talking about apples and apples.

I agree that you should call ScubaToys. I did and they were extremely helpful. I am a new diver and recently purchased my first BC. I went with a Zeagle Zena and love it! The great thing about it is that it is modular and you can select the pieces to create a custom fit just for you. The guys at ScubaToys were very patient and great to work with - no matter what BC you decide to buy.

hey

Yeah, Scubatoys have been great. I got all of my other stuff from them. Not the 10% discount though. Ive emailed Larry at scubatoys for some clarification.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Not all, but many of the items that Liesurepro sells are grey-market items. I may look different because it may be a European model, or it may be a knock-off. I agree with you're sentiments about it looking different. I can tell you that the inflator on the LP version is a standard generic one that you can buy on ebay for about $5. I wonder what else about it is not standard?

I also STRONGLY suggest ScubaToys. They rock! As for the 10% discount, just ask for it.

I really wish you could find a Zeagle dealer near you, and at least see and try on a Brigade. I live about 1 1/2 hours from Scubatoys, and have made that trip many times. They allowed me to sit 5 or 6 totally diferent BC's on the floor, in a line, and do detailed comparisons for myself. When all was said and done, NO question that the Brigade was the right choice for me. I liked the mix and match sizing (tall and thin), the features such as D rings and pockets, and the FIT and feel of it. I now have 25 + dives on it, and NO regrets. But - do buy the yellow thingies, and the rear trim weight pockets.
