Yeah, yeah, I know that the most important features of a BCD are fit and reliability, etc... but does anyone know of a QUALITY BCD that comes in colors other than black? I would love to find one that has all of the typical safety features and a good rating but that is blue or red or any other color! :crafty:

Not sure about other manufacturers, but Zeagle will make a B/C with custom colors on special order.

Deep Sea Supply makes their wings in an utterly amazing fluorescent pink. Saw one at Catalina -- You could spot it a hundred yards away!

Another is DiveRite who offers Red or Blue wings (some models) and Red or Blue trim on their Transpac harnesses.

OMS has a Red wing.

Poseidon has yellow trim on their BC and all-in-all, it may be the best looking BC available.

I just got Dive Rite's blue Venture wing, and the tranplate harness with the blue shoulder pads. Looks pretty sweet!

The Poseidon Besea BP/W has yellow or blue/yellow highlights depending on your wing choice.

This BC has worked for us well (and worked with my fiancee's yellow color scheme), but may not be appropriate for everyone. The standard harness is modeled on land backpack designs to facilitate carrying a load. For us, being over 40 with bad backs, and diving sites with a long walk to the shoreline, it has been appropriate.

One may also choose to configure a stainless steel backplate with webbing, and dump the padding. It's a modular system.

When I was in CA, the shop Scuba Schools of America sold these custom BC's in almost any color you could imagine, as well as alot of interesting prints, camo and Hawaiian prints, etc. Pretty cool and were good quality.

I have to say tho, that If I had to replace my BC (Ok when I get less cheap and finally DO replace my BC) I'd go with a BP/Wing. Much more streamlined, better fit, etc. And the one TSandM mentioned from DSS is awesome! :) For a chick, of course.

Good ideas. I have checked out many of the suggestions, although that orange one wasn't exactly what I had in mind. ;-) I want to order a custom Zeagle I think. They have one in blue and purple. Now, I need to find some cute beanies to help keep my hair back out of my mask!
