I have a rather large camerarig. Nikon D700 in a Aquatica housing with a couple of inon strobes. This is slightly on the negative side, and can be quite heavy to use. I also dive a BP/W with the standard 5 D-rings.
Normally I sling the camera in a stage position when not in use (Ie attached to Right shoulder and hip D ring)
When in use I unclip hip attachment and use the shoulder attachment point to help steady the camera. This way I can normally always have 1 arm free.
Edit: This is the Shock line I use: Light & Motion base mount handle system
Made in steel-wire. No plastic that will break.
