Just got certified and am looking at the Cressi AquaPro 5R.
I was told to get a XL but based on the size chart, it looks like I need the L as the waist size on the XL will be too big.
FYI.....I'm 5'11", 220 lbs and currently use 14 lbs of weight.
Thanks

Who told you to get a XL??---btw(& I know nothing about this BC) in general, the amount of wt. you use does not come into play on the size you need, it's how the thing fits........

(I would bet on the L--not the XL-why not try one on)

Sounds as if you're buying on line.

If you are, in that case you pay your money and take your chances.

If it doesn't fit and all the tags are still attached, perhaps you could return it and but the proper size.

It might be best if you can go to a dive shop with your wetsuit and get properly fitted.

Sometimes it doesn't hurt to pay a little bit more.

However, I don't think it would be of good form to go to a dive shop, get fitted, and then buy the B/C from an internet dive shop.

just a quick note. although I wouldn't buy a BCD online, leisurepro.com offers their PFF service. Pressure Free Fit. You can try it on and keep mailing it back until it fits right. but remember, bcd fit is important. nothing beats getting properly fitted by someone who knows how they should fit.

Just a FYI to all replies.....I have tried them on at different places and the Large fits great. As I stated, I'm a newbie and a little confused because a person at the LDS says I need the XL based on my body weight and it doesn't make sense to buy something that doesn't fit.

Do you wear a wetsuit?
Did you have the wetsuit on when you tried th BC?
Did you fully inflate the BC?
Did you fill the weight pockets? I don't know if this affects the fit.

If it fit, it fit.
