I am looking at getting a BC because I am a bigger guy and I am out here in Japan and I don't think it will be very easy to rent a BC while I am out here. Most of my diving will be on the Izo penn. mainly during the winter time. I will be diving either air or Nitrox. I would like to be able to do double tank dives later down the road although it is not a necesity at the time. One thing that I want is weight integrated. I am doing mainly leisurely dives and some photography as well while I am down there as well. I don't know of any LDS around me so any brands are open. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you would be best off with something like a Dive-rite Transpac or OMS IQ both of these require a separate wing that actually provides your lift. A similar system I've heard some good reviews of is available from Zeagel, though it is a little more recreational and less technical. You can get a smaller wing for single tanks and later get a larger one if needed for doubles. If I recall, both have optional weight integration pockets. (I personally use an OMS IQ and a Weight integration style weight belt, the DUI Weight & Trim 2)

I also know of a Japanese OMS dealer: (link works, but SB seams to not like the characters)

The DUI integrated weight harness is described here:

They also have a Japanese dealer:

(I'm not associated with any of these companies, They are just places I know of)

Sounds like some great direction, I currently use the Zeagle Ranger and find it to be outstanding... with all of the adjustments there isn't much that I haven't been able to do... I am however, looking at the HOLLIS HD-100 BCD any input on this rig?

thanks,

Mike

Also how much lift should I be looking at? i weigh in around 240lbs, this is just for a single tank.

I would strongly recommend that you get with your local dive shop so you can be properly fitted with a BC. A key to a BC is that it isn't meant to act as an elevator but to assist in providing buoyancy, it is also a crucial piece of life support equipment so the LDS is key to this process.
