Thank you everyone for the advice and explinations. I am going to buy a basic harness SS/BP and a 30lb wing for single tank diving. Now to sort out all the options.

Enjoy.......and keep in mind that just as your skills are increasing so will your gear. Most of us are constantly tweaking this or adjusting that......skills,knowledge and equipment are always a work in progress.

Just one caution on the wing . . . you may want to take whatever wetsuit you are using to a pool, and find out exactly how much weight it takes to sink it. That's the total lift you can lose on a deep dive (and although you may not lose all of it, planning that way doesn't hurt). Your wing has to be able to provide the lift you lose, and in your case, it MIGHT be more than 30 lbs.

I went online and looked up how much lift the BC i used for training had. I just bought my BP setup from Dive Gear Express. I got the hollis solo harness(very basic setup) a SS/BP and a 38lb lift wing. The only other single tank wing they had in the package was a 25lb and i didnt think that was a good idea so i got the 38lb wing.

Very good package, should take to where you want to go.

Good choice, I think! Come back and tell us how you like it.

I see a note in there to order tank straps. The rig is a little pricy IMO but I'm a tightwad when it comes to spending money on myself.

From what I see, the rig with SS plate and 38 lb wing is $479 + $40 for some highland straps (nice quality). That's $519. The Ultimate Hog Package - Hog brand is $448 for similiar configuration (32lb wing instead of 38lb wing ).

I got the DRIS 28/lb for $300 although it's $360 now not to mention backordered. :(

In the grand scheme of things, you've done good. Make sure you reach out and get advice on setting it up and adjusting it before you cust the webbing down to size.

Thanks for the imput on OMS, i wrote them an email over a week ago and just got a response today. Their idea of answering my question about a product was to just copy and paste the description from the website into the email. I can see i will never use them now.

Have a look at whites fusion drysuits, big fit without custom price

I looked at them and i love that hey have my size in stock and they seem like a high quality suit. I need to decide if i am going to buy a drysuit so i can dive this winter. or buy a regulator and computer so i dont need to rent them any more. Tough decisions to make!
