Iv got a Ranger, not LTD but its still a sick BC. i love it.

Got a Ranger and hate it. It's an XL with under a dozen dives and I'll make a good deal on it.

I love my ranger. It is alittle bulky put great when you get used to it. I've put over 60 dives on it and it still looks and works like it is brand new. I think if needed you can get them custume fitted with a different top and mid-section to fit your needs. :eyebrow:

I too have and like a Ranger BC. Yes, they are available with different waist panels and shoulders (a big benefit of buying from your LDS). For me the large lower rear weight pockets didn't help trim me out. I removed them and added the small 6# trim pockets to the upper tank band.

I have a Zeagle Brigade...a Ranger harness with a Escape bladder 35lbs..and love it. By going with the Brigade you don't have the bulk of the Ranger, because of the bladder. I did a review here on SB just do a search for "Brigade"

After getting my BC I really don't see why anyone would buy the LTD. I am sure that there are those that have the need for the extra goodies.

Another good thing about any of the Zeagles is that you can interchange bladders, harness, cumberbun, etc.

I just dove my new Ranger LTD last weekend for the first time, I'll never go back. while diving it's great and partially inflated it gives you a comfortable vertical surface position fully inflated it's a horizontal raft you can lay back on while waiting for your buddies.

That was written about 1 year and 100 dives ago, Since then I've dove it in the Caribbean, ice, jersey wrecks, single and doubles (with an abs backplate) and with students in a pool.

It's nice to dive the same versatile rig for both technical and recreational. You get real used to where things are and never have to worry whether your stuff got moved from your BC to your BP&Ws.

I keep a safety sausage/lift bag in one pocket and a collapsible snorkel, mini strobe and LED backup light in the other. Lots of good "D" rings for sling bottles, goodie bags wreck reels etc... I know you don't need all that in a pool or the quarry but if you always dive with it you never have to worry about forgetting it and when you do need it reaching for the stuff becomes second nature.

My only wish is that my twin HP100s would sit a little higher.
I've got the bands all the way down but I still have to undue the cummerbund and flip the tanks up a few inches to reach the isolation valve..... But so does Gentile with a BP&W (according to his new book). This is also not a big issue because I always dive with the valve closed. (you could theoretically need to close the valve in an emergency but almost never have to open it in one)

I guess I have the 'old' style with the roll-up pocket? Anyway, I love it.

Mine is only about a year and a half old and i've got the roll up pocket in front as well... I thought all the models with the wide cumberbund did...but I could be wrong....

My new Brigade has a roll up pocket too. I am rather straight through the torso and it fits nicely. I'm curious to see how many parts it could disassemble into, but I haven't tried it yet. I can tell it has the following parts that can be interchanged for sizing:

back top
back bottom
lt & right cumberbund
shoulder strap assembly
bladder
trim pockets

Got a Ranger LTD. It is an XL but the shoulder straps are too long. I got it from Scuba Toys so I called Larry and he sent me out some large shoulder straps from a regular Ranger. They worked fine, but I really liked the extra "D" ring on the LTD straps. Any way, I PM'd him a few days ago to see if he could order large LTD straps, but I'm still waiting.

Kind of got off the point there. The Ranger is great and since it is modular you can customize it to fit, which is great.

Get one.
