Planning a trip to BC in late August, Port Hardy area.

Looking for insight and suggestions. Will it be worth my while?

Everyone that I have researched so far indicates that it would be.

It's beautiful - you'll love it! Vis'll typically be about 40-60 ft, and when you're down you'll be hard pressed to find any piece of the bottom that's not covered with life. Invertebrates are very colorful and very large, and the macro life isn't too shabby either! You can usually find octopus or wolf eels on any dive, and on the way to the site you may spot pods of orcas and white sided dolphins. (My girlfriend is still raving about getting to snorkel in a pod of about 100 dolphins last year.) Also, you may encounter seals or sea lions. They can be fun, or a real pain...

Water temperatures are generally fairly cool, about 44-48°F even in August. Currents are common, but they make for nice drift diving.

Enjoy yourself!

Thanks Walrus.

I'm there.
