I'm just about to book a trip to Mozambique in November. My wife wants some luxury so is keen on Bazaruto Island, whereas I want the best chance of seeing Whale Sharks.

I'd be interested to hear anyones diving experiences of Bazaruto. Tofo seems to be the Whale Shark mecca but is lacking in high quality accomodation with Bara Lodge the best of a mediocre bunch - any other suggestions?

Thanks
Tom

I have asked around re diving at Bazaruto and couldn't find anyone who had been there so I cannot comment on the diving, although the resorts are said to be great.

I have been to Moz twice and found the best operator in the Inhambane area to be Tofo Scuba. The best accomodation in the area is probably Cassa Barry - comfortable but not luxury.

Will get the standard slide show, trip report and gallery posted to our site. We dive early in the trip so hopefully will have time to finish most of this while we are doing the dryland portion of the trip. Due to weight just taking the dome port and the 10-17 and 17-55 so will be more intent on WA.
