Has anyone heard about a battleship being sunk out between gulf shores and pensacola. It is the largest ever sunk. I cannot seem to find any infor on the net.

Probably it's the aircraft carrier "Oriskany" that you have in mind. Do a search in Scubaboard on that name and you'll come up with plenty of info.

I learned waiting on the S.Grove - don't plan anything until the year they announce it was indded sunk and is ready to dive.

MBT Divers has info on there web site mbtdivers.com

I dive in the Destin area,
from the Pensacola News Journal I think recall the deck issue had been solved but now its the PCB's in the miles of wiring that now the hold up plus the hurricane has caused the ship to drop out of the news. I don't think it ever left Corpus Christi that was probally good for Pensacola that it didn't. It would have broken loose and taken something else out.

If they can settle this next issue sometime next year maybe. But first some more studies

Yes, there is a sunken battleship and it is a popular dive location. Go to the following URL and either click on the USS Massachusetts or scroll down to # 5.

And here is another link with more info.

If you do a Google search on USS Massachusetts you will get a ton of hits.
