You might be able to purchase the "battery meter" found on the Mako from an Oceanic Dealer and mount it where the light was as long as you retain the clear light lens.
 
Sure, you could install a voltmeter in the forward bulkhead in place of the light. You would wire the voltmeter to the light switch wires so that would you pull the light trigger the voltmeter would provide a readout. An aluminum plate could be installed to hold the meter. I caution that one should not provide a spark source inside the battery compartment. N
