Battery life with UK C8 LED upgrade

Does anyone know how many hours of battery life you get from the 8 C batteries after doing the LED upgrade? Also, how much better is the light quality?

I am trying to decide if I should do the LED change or get the rechargeable battery kit. I assume the batter pack is more cost effective, but I only use my big light on trips for night dives, so buying batteries once or twice a year is not that big of a deal.

I've got the c8 LED, my friend has the original c8. The LED is quite a bit brighter, and its a whiter light. Also, the LED keeps full light a lot longer while the original tends to dim over time. We dont dive the same amount, so im not quite sure about battery life
