In the past, I've always brought my own extras for strobes, computers and such. And I'll do that this next time as well if need be. But I'm wondering if widespread availability of niche batteries are more common now. For instance, is there a shop where I can grab a 3 volt type CR2450 Lithium for my computer. I know I can get AAs and things like that. But I haven't noticed these watch battery types anywhere. Anyone know where they might be available on Coz?

Thanks

Yes you can pick them up at Mega in the electronics but they are much more expensive than the same battery at Walmart. I usually buy a bunch and bring down to friend who runs a dive business here.

Did this research for Ironman when competitors sought heart rate monitor batteries. If Mega & Ched are out, Aqua Safari & Cozumel Scuba Repair usually have CR2450's in stock.

3-4 years ago I needed a CR2450 and couldn't find one anywhere on the island. On our last trip, though, which was about a year ago, they were everywhere. Agree with the posts about price, though, it'd be a lot less expensive to bring a couple with you.

thx all, most helpful. Sounds like it's still worth it to bring extras.

I don't think my Walmart had them when I needed one and I got a little irritated at Radio Shack for charging $5 for one. I try to stay ahead on those on ebay: 5 for $1 delivered. No more than they weigh, I wouldn't want to have to chase them down on the island whatever they cost.
