So the upshot is that a quick trip down is out of the question because transport is an unreliable joke.

You can still arrange for a private transfer with pickup at the Manila Airport and drop off in Puerto Galera or Sabang, it will just cost you more.

Yep a lot more it use to cost 750 pesos airport to Sabang taxi bus ferry, private is about 5000 peso that’s 28usd vs 186 usd, return

P750.00 from NAIA to Sabang is history.
White Taxi from NAIA to JAM/JAC/Gold Star Terminal at Buendia is P150.00
Bus fare to Batangas is P200.00(big increase from P167.00)
Ferry to Balatero by Roll Roll is around P250.00.
Trike from Balatero to Sabang is P300.00.
You can still do it under P1,000.00.

Slightly more expensive and take longer travelling time if through Calapan but the boats are a lot better and definitely safer! However, the road trip on shared van or jeepney can be brutal!!!
