Was there in Nov for Thanksgiving. There are tons of sea turtles and we went swimming with them. All the diving is on the west coast of the island, the east coast is very windy and have very strong currents. The dive shop in St. Lawrence Gap is the southern most dive shop. Remember Barbados is not in the Caribbeansea but it is in the Atlantic, water is a bit cool, not by much though.
There St. Lawrence Gap is very touristy but nice to visit.
The west coast is the gold coast, that is were the money is. So hotels on the west coast is a bit more then the southern coast.
If you are planning to do the top side thing, renting a car may be a good idea. But there are taxis available.
The west coast by Bathsheba is the the most photograph part on the west coast. It is very scenic.
Enjoy the flying fish, it the local special. Mount Guy is the local run factory, and the rum punch is quite good. But food thens to be pricey, it is an island that has to import everything.
I was there for two weeks, I totally explored the island. the baja dollar is worth 98cent and is tie to the US dollar no worry about exchange rates.
