balanced 1st stage, second stage and octo

If I have a balanced first and second stage, do I need to have a balanced octo?

Short answer is no.
Longer answer is you might want to consider having a similar quality octo as your primary.
 
no you don't but if you had an overbalance 1 stage and doing deep dive yes.

Not unless you are doing dives much greater then rec limits and the octo is tuned fairly close to the edge...which most octos aren't. The increase over ambient is only about 15 psi at 100 ft, it's been a while but I did the math just to see what the difference was a few years ago, it worked out to be in the 10% range.
