Just wondering if anyone has ever used Bahama Divers?? If you have are they any good?? cattle boats?? do they do shark dives?? I was planning on using stuart cove diving but they are 40 min. from my hotel thanks everyone

In Freeport on Grand Bahama Island I highly recommend UNEXSO!!! You can find them on the web at www.unexso.com. They do all types of diving, reefs, wrecks, shark and dolphin encounters on scuba as well as a guided dive in Ben's Cavern. Excellent full service facility, great staff, large boats. Have a blast in the Bahamas !!

Use Stuart Cove, the are definately worth the drive. Yes you can do shark dives with them, they are awesome. I can't wait to dive with them again.

you can do shark dives with Bahama divers?? Im just not in the mood to drive 40 min. each for 5 days in a row

Stuart Cove's has a "fleet" of buses that will pick you up at your hotel.
It doesn't cut out the 40+ minute trip, but at least you're not behind the wheel, and you might get a chance to chat with some of the other divers on the ride to the shop.

Has anyone ever used baham divers though?? it says on padis web site they are a 5 star facility

sorry, I have not, Stuart Cove has such a great rep, they are always on discovery channel and are affiliated with a dozen movies. Not that, that means a whole hill of beans, but they do give personnal attention and are SAFE. Not only roll call but you sign when you come up from each dive.... No "Open Water" for them...by the way, they were the ones taking the film crew out for that movie.:crafty:

I don't know the boat or the rest of the crew, but it was UNEXSO's Christina Zenato at the helm of the boat used *in* the movie. She is the one with the accent, and one that made the movie credits.

My wife and I enjoyed our dives with UNEXSO (no "Open Water" from their *real* dive operation, either) on two separate trips, but you definitely have to reduce your expectations of customer service everywhere else on that end of the island. If not, you'll just spend your dry hours frustrated (like me). <g>

both Stuart's Cove and Unexeco do shark dive feedings where the feeder wears a chain mail suit. Not only does this, IMO, encourage and train sharks to bite the arms/hands of divers, it changes the natural behavior of the wild. Hardly a good thing from my perspective.
The Bahamas has great diving, the reefs seem healthier this year than I have seen in years past, plus I seem to see different kinds of fish, rarer fish this year.
Enjoy your dives, and be safe.

It appears as though nobody is answering your question. I cannot either as I have not yet dove the Bahamas. My only word of warning....PADI 5-Star....holds very little water. I am PADI OW certified and AOW/Nitrox with NAUI. I have dove with many "5-Star" Padi dive shops and some were GREAT and others were terrible. I have yet to see a Southern PADI shop not advertising 5-Star. Perhaps somebody will eventually answer your question here because this is the best tool you have at your disposal for word of mouth.

Also...try posting this in the Bahamas section of SB http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=563 .
