I'm going to Cozumel in the last week of January 2025. I've done the CUN-CZM bag-drag twice and find that preferable to dealing with connecting flights to/from Cozumel/Philadelphia. (American flies non-stop to CUN, not CZM and I've been screwed twice with missed connections on past trips.)

I've used @cvchief's guy in the past and it was fine, although I did have to negotiate the price (despite saying "Jefe sent me" :) Jhony aka Captain America took the WhatsApp message, but farmed out the taxi rides to some other drivers. As far as I can see, he may work for www.americantransferscancun.com but takes some jobs as a side-gig at a lower cost than they advertise.

(1) is "Jhony" still the guy to contact? (It's been 3 years since my last Cozumel trip).

(2) has anyone done the bag-drag recently and what did you end up paying for the taxi?

(3) It looks like my flight will be too late to realistically make the 4pm ferry in PDC, so I'll have >1hr to kill anyway; maybe the bus is worth considering? What has been people's experience with the bus?

Thanks in Advance.

When I went in September, I flew Aerus from CUN to CZM. I took the ferry and the bus back, as I was not in a hurry to catch my flight. Not as cheap as a bag drag, but very convenient and much cheaper than a charter.

i have almost always used the ADO bus when going to playa or coz.
a couple of cabs on the way home due to time issues.
but the bus has always been cheap, easy, and you aren't holding on for dear life during one of those cab rides. lol
no haggling either. last time we negotiated a cab ride back to the airport from playa and then the kid that took us asked for more. i politely told him where to go and that was that. i hate that sh*t.

With the new ferry in operation, you can catch one on the half hour now.

Really? I didn't see that when I looked on the schedules. And WinJet wouldn't show me any dates after Nov. It would be great if they're running that often in late Jan / early Feb

The Cozumel <=> Playa del Carmen ferry stuff is always changing; you might not know what you are dealing with until you get to the dock.

The bus is very clean, comfortable and has good AC. Just did the bus in August. I don’t mind the ADO bus vs a taxi.
Do I remember correctly that the Ado bus drops you at a place where you can roll bags along a smooth(er) sidewalk to the Ferry, as opposed to taxis which drop you at the entrance to all the shopping junk with much rougher walkways?

If you are in a taxi can't you tell the driver where to let you out?
