Alright new on the water i was in the keys last month caught in storm on the water lightning got real bad. all the boats out there went over to a sandbar. and alot of them got out of there boats water about two to three feet deep.on the bar to me that did'nt seem to bright or maybe i'm wrong any thoughts.

Did you get to see lightning hit the water? That is one of my favorite things to watch, not many people get to see that.

I have been in boats when lightning hits and I have talked to people that have been in the water close enough to feel a charge, but I wouldnt get out of my boat and stand in water during a storm.

Moving the boat to a sand bar or other shallow area is fine, but getting out is not a good idea at all in my mind, unless you are pulled up on land I guess.
