I love my apex regs, T20, TX100 and a new ATX200. Mike's issues with the 1/2 inch ports are not important for general diving in my opinion. That size hose is very common (Seaquest, Aqualung, Apex, et al) on regs these days, and you can always use an adaptor. I think his concern is with interchangeability (is that a word?) in tech diving where the gear has to be uniform. Buy one as it comes in the box, use it, have fun, you won't regret it.

Check?? Some sort of rebate? Nobody tells me anything! What is it?

Okay I'll bite and give the opposing view. I have nothing against Apeks and I'm told they are great for cold water diving. But since I avoid cold water since living in Northern CA and diving there and I 'm not a technical diver, my new regulator is a Atomic B1.

I leave Sat for my New Year's dive trip to Turks and Caicos. I'll give my review of the Atomic B1 when I get back.
