I don't think responding to a thread that has been dead for 8 years is a record, but it can't be far off.
Does that make it irrelevant??
It is just a bad strategy if you want results.
If you have a new issue that bears discussion, you should start a new thread. It is just as easy to start a new thread that focuses on your issue as it is to bury your topic at then end of an 8 year old thread on a similar but not exactly the same topic.
