I'm a newbie even though SSI AOW. Anyone ever have this experience?....My first ocean dive we got to the reef and our briefing was "here we are, jump in". I did and my weight belt fell off [pear shaped body] then our 'group' not buddies wound up out of air 100 yds from the boat.
In Tobermory had a "captain" in his 70s, fat and chainsmoked the whole time. Could hardly get out of his chair. The "crew" was his wife who slept in the V berth the whole trip.
Lake Superior, great captain, no crew. We came up the ladder by ourselves with nobody there. We helped each other. After a
100' 41 degree dive we were pooped and could use some help.
That's some bad experiences for only 2 years of diving. Anybody else have similar or did I just have bad luck?
