The iguanas ate them all. These guys get real big on Bonaire. I saw one last trip munching on someones regulator and computer console. The sucker took it right out of the truck.

Actually, there are quite a few cats and dogs on Bonaire, though I swear all the dogs look pretty similar. Stray dogs are one of the road hazards you have to keep an eye on. That and traffic circles where the vehicle IN the circle has to stop, for inbound traffic! :shocked2:

Week days @ 4:30-5PM they even have a small traffic jam in downtown Kralindijk, just to make us feel at home!

Most recently, these incidents have been reported in Thailand. [16] have been attributed to scopolamine.

I read about a similar scam occurring here in the US.

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers.
This one caught me by surprise.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out
shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works:

Two good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your supplies into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts.

It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds.

You agree and they get into the back seat. On the way, they
start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen August 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th & 29th. Also September 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 10th, 13th, 16th & 22nd, three times this morning
and very likely again tomorrow.

So tell your friends to be careful.

I read about a similar scam occurring here in the US.

At first, I thought... A short trip as Micky D's is in the same parking lot as my Home Depot, then I kept reading...

Hey CD..Now I'm upset. That has never happened to me at my Home Depot in NJ. I'll try a trip there tomorrow to see if my luck changes. Do I have to travel all the way to Texas??

Sorry to see you leave this thread but I thoroughly understand. You ask, why do they do that, turn it into sniping, insults, jokes and general silliness? They do that to clog the thread and to give the false impression that the INCREASING crime problem on Bonaire is just petty and nothing to worry about. You, on the other hand, REALLY love Bonaire and want it to change and be the place it once was. You also see that only when you admit the problem , can you find a solution. They are not there yet, and might NEVER be.

I have been following and participating in this thread for a couple of days. Unfortunately there is too much personal sniping for my taste to participate any further. As soon as a topic turns into a right/wrong discussion, especially bitterly, the important part that seems to be losing out, is the focus on the issue at hand. Or better yet, a contribution to a solution.

I honestly don't understand what the point is of going that route.
