Oh yeah, I forgot about that...

Honestly, I think PF needs to be concentrating on his own experiences, other than preaching to others about their lack of experience.

Well, I do concentrate on my own diving and I do not preach, but I do see the folly in having a bunch of cert cards and very little experience.

I have thought it strange that a DM could be trained by an OWSI. This is true within the PADI system. I think that in SSI it takes a higher-level trainer to do that for a DiveCon but I’m not sure about that.

AFAIK, you need to be a DCSI (Dive Control Specialist Instructor) in order to teach DiveCons.

Also, since SSI dealers "grow their own" DiveCons for use in their own shops, it tends to be a very comprehensive class and not something you can just blow through in a few weeks, and certainly not something the shop will sign off on just to get the money.

Wait a minute. Pilotfish is a work in progress, like everyone. He just does it very publicly. I have seen his thinking evolve since then. Lots of people on this board NEVER "self reflect" and so are immune to host of guff those of us who come on and post our mistakes, get opinions, etc. There are people who expose themselves here and people who play it very safe....

It really is amazing how clearly you see things, Catherine. Brains and beauty in one? A deadly combo. Seriously, you are correct, I have put my mistakes out there, to learn from them, and to see if I actually had done something wrong. Most times it has been my mistake but it has also not been mine at times. You are also correct, most divers on this Board play the prudent role and NEVER expose themselves or admit to mistakes.

As one poster said a few post before this, there some are good DM and some bad. Well, maybe on one occassion, or two, I got a bad one?

With as many dives that you have under your belt, why don't you feel comfortable being "solo" with a group?

Thats right...blame someone else. Typical.

That is actually very funny
No, its sad actually.

jeffie, how many threads are out there with you and Bob putting your mishaps out there? have you ever had one? oh...yea...your chain saw malfunction. :11:

DIR folks are in the closet with any **'s.---but thats why they have their own club I guess. Gotta love that gear though! And those training DVD's don't suck either.

what he said was that MOST of the time they were his mistakes.
