fwiw, 3 o-rings doesn't equal "better."

I dive with a bunch of dudes who do some pretty sporty dives, and we all have Halcyon Scouts. 1 o-ring. I've YET to hear or see one fail. I'm sure it happens, but its ridiculously infrequent.
 
I like the Halcyon Scouts too, never had a problem with one. I have a couple of the 2W Light Monkey backups helmet mounted for the sidemount dives, although I'm beginning the think about alternatives--the helmet is starting to seriously annoy me.
 
The one I had was not very bright, in fact, it was exceptionally dim. Perhaps they are better now. The quality of construction was fine, the light output was about par with a black hole.
