Welcome on :sblogo:

Hope to see your posts soon.

have FUN.:D

Welcome to SB... membership is long overdue.

Love your Top Dawg. I own two of them and have used them with 5 or 6 different Sony camcorders over the last 9 years. Too bad L&M pulled the rug out from under you.

Any plan to create PCBs using the new Sony control connectors to replace the LANC connection?

I've spent many dollars with you guys and have been very happy with the service at your Monterey location. Welcome aboard! Now I just have to save for that new 5DMkII housing :D

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, everyone! We appreciate it.

Dr. Bill - I am not sure about the answer to your question, and am looking into it with some of our video experts. Will let you know as soon as I learn something!

All the very best,

Sterling

Dr. Bill,

I checked with our video expert Russ Sanoian, and he mentioned the following:

"The Top Dawg housing is no longer being made, there are new boards for Top Dawg that allow you to use newer HD cameras like the SR12. The newest generation of Sony HD cameras like the XR520 will not work however as they have a completely different protocol and we will not be making new boards to support the latest Sony cameras. The current list of cameras that are supported are listed on the Topdawgvideo.com website under compatibility."

If you would like to discuss further with Russ, you can contact him at russ@backscatter.com

All the very best,

Sterling
